From a single vila to 50 5 stars hotels – it all started with a quality business strategy developed in 2011. 

Let’s start from begining – the 3 key elements for success:

• WANT TO
• BE ABLE TO 
• KNOW HOW TO 

More than a decade ago, Mr. Plišo was in the situation to want and to be able to develop Stanzia Meneghetti’s business.

He entrusted me with the task of coming up with a strategy for the development of that facility.

At that time, the business model was to rent the entire villa for a long period, which only the super mega rich could afford. But such a model of renting a house as a single unit had its challenges.

The conclusion was briefly:

• change the model to renting smaller units
• design the offer according to different target groups
• adjust communication through all digital channels

Following steps opened the gate to a new chapter in the history of Villa Meneghetti:

• define unique selling points
• create special offers for 3 main type of customer:  Couples, Event planers, Families 
• built the first website and Facebook page 

That first web was the TURNING POINT and everything began to roll along the inevitable path of success.

Today, the number of accommodation units has increased to over 50, and the entire Hotel Meneghetti is among the best hotels in the world.

The most difficult thing is to have the courage to trust someone else’s expert advice and lay the foundations for a new direction of development. Once new chapter is embraced, everything becomes easier and new normal.

By the way, I looked through that old study and from today’s perspective it looks like a vision board. 

At that time, I had over 11 years of experience in tourism and formal education of hotel managers. What strategies can I make today? The time will show!

The key starting point of any strategy is a SWOT analysis. A seemingly simple matrix, however, in order to be correctly filled out and used, a deep knowledge of the subject is required.
