Let’s be practical, and take advantage of all the possibilities that modern tools offer us.
In this blog post, we will show you how to do monthly work in one day.
We start with the creation of EDITORIAL CALENDAR. For that purpose we are going to use a simple table.
The first column will display days of the month. Here it is wise to highlight weekends, National holidays, and special days like Valentine’s day, Mother’s day, Planet Earth day, International hugging day and similar.
Once we prepare the timeline, we need to add inputs about the scope of the campaign. Therefore we add the following columns:
- Communication goals
- Available picture/video
- Place to tag
- People to tag
- #
- Budget for post promotion
In the following picture, we show an example for a small upcoming imaginary event, where the whole campaign last 3 weeks.
Try to think of all possible communications you will need. Here is a list that might be helpful:
- Discounts (early bird, last minute, finale sale, summer special price, black friday ….)
- Unique selling proposition (tradition, quality, effect on user)
- Useful information (available facility on the spot, shortest root, schedule)
- Rules (no drugs policy, no car allowed, only 18+…)
- Thank you post (thanks to sponsors, organisers, participants…)
Based on those inputs, we can prepare copy and images for each post.
Once a client approves the copy, we schedule all the posts. Some campaign cannot fully be scheduled in advance, especially when you want to have ex.” live from the event”, in story format.
Wise tip: when you plan all you post a month ahead, try to avoid any connection with the weather, otherwise you will have to adapt it last minute if the weather turns out no to be like it was imagined.
Be always ready for unpredictable posts. Sometimes, the goal can be achieved sooner than predicted.
